Flea market

Flea market and childrens’ flea market
No King’s Day without vrijmarkt in the streets of Groningen!

This year the flea market is located elsewhere: in the Noorderplantsoen. Because we expect thousands of visitors on King’s Day in Groningen, the usual flea market location, along the ‘singels’ (streets) near the central station, is not suitable. But the attractive surroundings of the park and the hopefully great weather will no doubt result in a flea market that is as successful and pleasant as always! Extra this year: a special childrens’ flea market located at the Westerhaven.

Flea market
April 27th 2018, 9 am – 5 pm
Location: Noorderplantsoen
Along the Leliesingel and Kruissingel, and on the path between the Leliesingel and Oranjesingel (around the basketball court). Sellers are welcome to find a nice spot in the park from 7 am onwards. Trading starts at 9 am.

Childrens' flea market
April 27th 2018, 9 am – 5 pm
Location: Westerhaven
Young sellers are welcome to find a nice spot at the square from 9 am onwards. The bidding and selling can start immediately!
Please note: Westerhaven-entrepreneurs are also allowed to set up stalls here.

Good to know:

  • Both the grass and the trees in the Noorderplantsoen will be protected by barriers.
  • NOTE: cars are not allowed on the grass, not even to unload them!
  • NOTE: it is prohibited to attach anything to trees!

  • There will be (extra) bicycle stands, both in the Noorderplantsoen and at the Westerhaven.
  • Several public toilets will be available at both locations.
  • Food and (non-alcoholic) drinks will be available at both locations.
  • There is no fixed programme during the flea markets, but street musicians will perform.
  • There will be first aid facilities at both markets.
  • On Friday morning April 27th flea market participants who want to enter the Noorderplantsoen by car are limited to the Oranjesingel. Traffic attendants will be present to give directions.
